The Turks & Caicos Islands government has successfully contained any spread of the virus in the destination since
adopting strict controls in late March and remains vigilant in order to protect the citizens and to keep the destination safe for visitors to enjoy the “Beautiful By Nature” TCI. This gift of ventilators reinforces the existing medical community with critical medical equipment should the virus pose a future challenge to the destination.
Receiving the donation from TCC was the Hon. Edwin Astwood, Minister of Health, Aldora Robinson, Director of Health Promotion and Advocacy Unit, Charlene Higgs, Director of Health Disaster and Florinda Talbot, Director of Ministry of Health, Contract Management Unit.
Minister Astwood, on behalf of TCIG and the people of the TCI, expressed profound thanks and praise for the Turks and Caicos Collection for being a great community partner. “This truly shows the power of working together for the greater good. Globally, this pandemic has created a high demand and in many instances a shortage of much needed medical supplies and equipment. TCIG is grateful to the TCC for its generous donation of life-saving equipment, integral to protecting the health of our citizens and extremely vital in the care for COVID-19 patients.”
